About Us

newfotFriends of Trees' mission is to bring people in the Portland-Vancouver metro area together to plant and care for city trees and green spaces. Through our Neighborhood Trees program, homeowners buy discounted trees to plant with their neighbors at weekend plantings. Through our Green Space Initiative, trained crew leaders guide volunteers at weekend events to restore natural areas and green spaces between freeways and neighborhoods. Since 1989, we have planted more than 385,000 trees and native plants.

You can read our 2008 Annual Report and our most recent 990 Form. Our taxpayer ID is 93-0999999. We are a member of the Coalition for a Livable Future, Alliance for Community Trees, Oregon Community Trees, and EarthShare Oregon. Friends of Trees meets all 20 BBB Charity Standards and is Recycle at Work Certified by the city of Portland.
