Register here for the Salem Crew Leader training!
Crew leaders are one of our most important volunteer roles as they help teach our volunteers how to plant trees and work together as a team. Crew leaders attend a training to learn how to plant trees and how to guide volunteers at planting events.
During our planting season, each crew leader commits to guiding small groups of planters at four Saturday morning plantings. Each crew leader receives the coveted Tree Team t-shirt and is invited to attend Friends of Trees leadership celebrations.
Being a Crew Leader is a way to give back to your community and make new connections - all while having fun! You'll be hard-pressed to find a warmer way to spend the winter!
We organize public tree planting events every Saturday morning from October - May and we always need help planting the trees. Planting with Friends of Trees is a great way to get outside, learn how to plant trees, meet people, fulfill service learning requirements and help make the Salem region greener and healthier - all at once!
Volunteer as a group! Friends of Trees planting events are excellent ways for groups to learn team-building skills, have fun together and give back to the community. RSVPs are kindly requested for groups of more than 5 people - please click HERE to do so.
If you're under 18 years old, please bring a signed copy of our Youth Waiver with you to the event.
