Small, densely-foliaged, dapper, round-headed tree. May develop oval to rounded shape.
Evergreen leaves. New foliage emerges purple-bronze and changes to lustrous medium green with maturity. Leaves persist for two years before falling.
Acorns up to one inch long, in clusters of two to four. Nuts are brownish black and ripen in first year.
