Neighborhood Summer Inspectors

Our Summer Inspectors monitor the health of newly planted street trees. Summer Inspectors are trained to give tree care advice to homeowners. Each Summer Inspector is assigned a neighborhood route where trees have been planted during the past year. The inspector leaves notices for homeowners to congratulate them for taking care of their new trees and identify ways they can help improve their trees' health.

Natural Area Summer Tree Care

Friends of Trees organizes volunteer work parties to weed, mulch and water newly planted native trees and plants at urban natural areas. Some of the volunteers also monitor the sites for survivorship, growth rate, natural recruitment, presence of invasive species, and quality of plant installation.
