We make it easy by offering tree selections tailored to your planting strip width and the growth space available if you have overhead wires. We also help with any required permitting.
Portland and Vancouver residents need a free permit to plant trees in the public right-of-way. If you plant a tree yourself, please start by contacting Portland Urban Forestry at 503-823-4489 or Vancouver Urban Forestry at 360-619-1132.
People like you are making Northwest neighborhoods greener every weekend!
This year we're expanding to plant trees in neighborhoods in the Portland-Vancouver, Salem, and Eugene-Springfield areas. We offer the best prices and best selection of street trees in the region.
For $35-$75, you'll receive an 8-12' tree, delivery, hole digging, planting assistance, mulch, stakes, and follow-up maintenance checks: a $200 value! We also offer scholarships to people who can't afford a tree.
Find your neighborhood's next planting date on our Portland-Vancouver & Salem calendar or our Eugene-Springfield calendar. Or see if we're planting in your neighborhood by entering your address on our Plant It! Programs page.
If a planting is scheduled in your neighborhood, you can order trees online. Signing up doesn't obligate you to buy. It makes it possible for a city forester to inspect your planting strip for a location where a tree can be planted. After the inspection, we'll send you a list of recommended trees.
If a planting isn't scheduled in your neighborhood yet, help plan one! Sign up for our free Neighborhood Coordinator Training on August 15.
