Membership

Friends of Trees invites every person who cares about our urban forest to become a member or to renew their membership by making a tax-deductible contribution. Just click on "Give Now!" below.

To fulfill Friends of Trees' mission of building community and tree canopy, we provide street and yard trees to homeowners at less than half--sometimes less than five percent!--of our actual $175 cost. We rely on grants, donations, and members to fill in the gaps. In most cases the homeowner pays even less than Friends of Trees pays the wholesale nursery to buy the tree. Then we add on the cost of staff, insurance, trucks and gas, tools, volunteer recruitment, and training.

By becoming a Friends of Trees member, you will help us continue to build canopy and community in the cities of Portland and Vancouver. Most of our tree purchasers tell us that the main reason they plant trees at their homes is to improve their neighborhood and the environment in general. Membership will further these goals even after your planting strips are full.
