Celebrating life events and honoring your loved ones is easy with a Gift Tree from Friends of Trees. Your green gift will grow over time and leave a legacy for future generations.

Planting Gift Trees

Our gift trees get planted in the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge, in Sherwood, OR. The Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge is one of only a handful of urban national wildlife refuges in the country.  Situated within the floodplain of the Tualatin River, its richness and diversity supports some of the most abundant and varied wildlife in the watershed.  It’s home to nearly 200 species of birds, over 50 species of mammals, 25 species of reptiles and amphibians, and a variety of insects, fish and plants. An abundant and healthy tree presence ensures the area thrives!  Our next gift tree planting at the Wildlife Refuge will be in March of 2017.

A few things to keep in mind:

Because of the sensitive nature of the site, we can't mark individual trees, but if you join us at the next Gift Tree planting, you can plant your trees yourself and watch them grow over the years.

Please note that all visitors to the Refuge must follow all posted rules and regulations. This includes staying on marked trails. Some trails are closed seasonally to protect sensitive bird nesting habitat. Rules can be found here.  The Refuge provides a place of solace and respite for humans and wildlife alike.  If you have any questions regarding your visit, please feel free to call the Refuge's visitor center!
