Dedicate a Gift Tree

Gift Trees are the perfect way to honor people and life’s milestones.

The support Friends of Trees receives through our Gift Trees program helps fund our work restoring natural areas.

All gift trees are native tree seedlings that are planted in the Portland, Oregon Metro Area at Friends of Trees Green Space restoration events that take place from October – April every year. Friends of Trees’ Green Space Program restores natural areas throughout our region, from Troutdale to Hillsboro, Oregon. All Gift Trees are planted in these areas and they play a vital role in our work restoring sensitive natural areas that are key for habitat, clean air, and watershed health. A unique and important feature about Friends of Trees’ tree planting programs, including Gift Trees, is post-planting tree care, helping to ensure the trees we plant survive and thrive.

We are no longer able to invite gift tree donors or recipients to plant their Gift Trees, and, unfortunately, in order to reduce traffic to and impact on the sensitive natural areas where gift trees are planted we are not able to share specific planting sites of gift trees, thank you for understanding.

All of our Gift Tree certificates are electronic: You will be able to choose the certificate you prefer, edit it, print it, and give it or mail it directly to your Gift Tree recipient. Your emailed donation receipt will contain a link to the page with the printable certificates, along with printing and editing instructions. We are generally unable to print and mail you a certificate, and we are not able to mail certificates to your Gift Tree recipients for you. If you mail a check requesting printing and mailing services, it could take a few weeks for a certificate to be generated, thank you for understanding.

Thank you for supporting of trees + community through the gift of trees!
