Exercising their eco-friendly muscle on tour, the Foo Fighters alt-rock band have come to the aid of Friends of Trees, a local TreeBank member, to help plant trees.
As they hit the road this summer on their North American tour, Foo Fighters plan to rock Portland on July 10 at the Rose Garden Arena in support of their new, Grammy-winning album, Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace.
To support urban forests, the Foo Fighters have allocated premium tickets to auction for each U.S./Canadian tour date. The auction’s proceeds will then go to local TreeBank “branches,” including Friends of Trees, to plant trees in communities along the Foo Fighters’ tour. No more auction tickets are available for July 10, but general admission tickets can be purchased at http://search.comcasttix.com/west/eventinfo/FooFightersRoseGarden.php.
Friends of Trees brings people in the Portland-Vancouver metro area together to plant and care for city trees and urban natural areas. TreeBank is a web-based tool that enables any city to develop a community fund for tree planting, care and education.
