Friends of Trees does not have any open positions at this time. However, the City of Gresham is hiring an Urban Forester who will work with Friends of Trees. We have many volunteer opportunities that look great on a resume. We also like to hire people that have previously volunteered or served through Americorps with us.

City of Gresham Natural Resource Planner
Position:
This position reports to the Comprehensive Planning Supervisor and will be responsible for development and management of a comprehensive urban forestry plan that will address multiple tree-related issues faced by the City and qualify the City of Gresham to become a Tree City USA. This will include assessing the current condition of the urban tree canopy, developing a prioritized plan for improving the quality of the tree canopy in Gresham and ways to engage citizens in this effort. Additionally the incumbent will serve as a staff representative to citizen committees and advisory groups; facilitate discussions; provide technical advice and information; draft committee recommendations for public hearings; respond to inquiries from the public by phone, through correspondence and at the department counter and provide information and code interpretation to property owners, developers and other interested parties.
